Control Planning <> Materials <> Execution
SECTION A - Planning Control
1.
Delivery dates are committed based on capacity (not hope)
Reality check: Do we know available capacity before committing delivery?
2.
Production plan is visible to everyone (not locked in one person’s head)
Reality check: Can the team see “this week’s plan” without calling the owner?
3.
There is ONE final priority plan (no conflicting versions)
Reality check: Is there one truth - or does priority change every hour?
4.
Work is released only when it’s executable
Reality check: Do jobs start even when material/drawing/tool is missing?
SECTION B - Materials Control
5.
BOM exists and is usable (even if simple)
Reality check: Do we have a reliable parts list for repeat/variant products?
6.
Shortages are detected BEFORE production starts
Reality check: Do we catch shortages early - or only when assembly stops?
7.
Re-order logic exists (lead time + critical items + min/max)
Reality check: Do we buy based on a system - or based on panic?
8.
Stores issue control exists (right item / qty / job)
Reality check: Are wrong issues and untracked items a common problem?
SECTION C — Execution Control
9.
Shopfloor priorities stay stable for at least 1 shift/day
Reality check: How often are jobs changed after work has already started?
10.
WIP is controlled (jobs don’t remain half-finished)
Reality check: Do you have many “almost done” jobs blocking dispatch?
11.
Bottleneck is identified and protected
Reality check: Do you know the one process that decides your output speed?
12.
Daily review exists (Plan vs Actual + Shortages + actions)
Reality check: Do you review daily execution - or only during escalations?

Note: This checklist is for internal assessment. Results improve only through consistent implementation.
